The pubs owner Julie had some incredible stories to tell us. From what started as a small poppy wall to celebrate the armed forces past and present, has turned into a museum, full of genuine armed forces uniform from over the decades, personal memorabilia donated through family members of the fallen and ceilings and walls full of poppies and photographs of service men and women past and present. Not only is this a war memorial pub but it offers a support network to local homeless men and women and the elderly.
The Don Bar are looking to move into a new bigger premises which needs a lot of work. Upon hearing that Julie was looking for donations or contributions, Easibathe were happy to help by providing disabled toilet facilities. There is still a lot of work to be done in upcoming months but, with Julies dedication and the help of the pubs support network we have no doubt this project will succeed.
